With her Making Sense-ory® speaking series, Tara has been delivering innovative, ground-breaking lectures on topics such as sensory integration, autism, attention deficit disorder, behavior, and social intelligence for more than ten years. Making Sense-ory is geared toward parents, educators, and therapists—it is especially revealing for psychologists, counselors, speech pathologists, and occupational and physical therapists. It is a new lens through which to view a child’s behavior, and also a powerful framework for helping him reach his highest potential.

The Making Sense-ory series explores the powerful emerging connection between sensory processing and behavior. In her seminars, Tara shares the principles of sensory integration, explains how sensory systems function, and describes how early sensory-motor experiences combine to build a Brain Library®—the reference system that every child draws from as they grow and develop. Building a thorough and multi-subject Brain Library is essential. The first few “books” that infants add to their Brain Libraries, whether they cover tactile, auditory, or other systems, enable toddlers and adolescents to write even more advanced "books" and thus create a full and healthy library. A complete Brain Library opens the door to success, both socially and academically, and it all begins with the senses.

Making Sense-ory is about more than explaining the latest scientific findings. Tara equips seminar participants with proven strategies for overcoming sensory issues, from behavioral flow charts to support plans. She provides tools for differentiating behaviors that have a sensory component from those that are learned.
